Coventry Kids Enjoy Golfway Festival!

Published on 27th Jul 2023

Children from across Coventry got to experience golf for the first time using Golfway Play equipment, courtesy of a Golf Foundation Primary Schools Festival.

The event, organised by the West Midlands regional development officer Alice Lowe, took place at Shirley Golf Club. Children from Clifton Primary School, Chilcote Primary and Hillstone Primary enjoyed learning a new sport through fun and interactive skill games.

Furthermore, the event provided an opportunity for Year 9 pupils from Archbishop Ilsley Secondary School to assist with delivery as part of their sports qualification.

"Initiatives such as this local schools festival help to introduce new audiences to golf and are crucial as we look to grow the game" commented Golfway Director of Business Development Nick Horrocks.

"Golfway Play equipment is perfect for this kind of setting, allowing the children to develop their hand-eye coordination, communication skills and teamwork. Alice has done a fantastic job pulling this together and we look forward to attending future Golf Foundation events."

If you know a school, club or organisation that would like to try golf, you can find the contact details of Golf Foundation regional representatives here.
