Golfway And The Golf Foundation Team Up In The R&A Swingzone

Published on 22nd Jul 2022

Golfway and the Golf Foundation came together to run fun golf-related games and challenges in the R&A SwingZone throughout the 149th Open Championship weekend at Royal St. Georges.

Golfway has launched a new partnership with The Golf Foundation, delivering new equipment to help engage younger children and families in the world of golf in new fun and accessible ways. Teaming up for the first time, Golfway and the Golf Foundation took over the SwingZone at the 149th Open Championships at Royal St. George’s to set up different games to help test the skills of new players in different ways.

The aim of both Golfway and The Golf Foundation is shared in helping children and families from all backgrounds start their journey into the world of golf and develop early skills to carry forward onto the real course. Throughout the week, several golfing ambassadors stopped by to try out the equipment for themselves including Tim Henman, Nicola Bennett and Nick Dougherty and they had a great time giving the next generation of young golfer’s tips and tricks to improve their play.

Around 120 boys and girls from 10 schools from Kent had a day to remember as they were given the chance to try out the new Golfway kit on launch day at The Open and they did not disappoint with Luddenham School taking home The Golf Foundation’s ‘Skills for Life Award’ for showing great focus and fairness on the course.  Over the weekend we also saw a large number of families get involved and try out the equipment for the first time with some very competitive games that did not disappoint.

As The Open came to an end, we were proud to provide fun and intuitive golfing experiences to younger generations to help join the Golf Foundation’s aim of #CreatingGolfers which was the hashtag for the Open week across all social media.
