At Golfway, we firmly believe that every child should have access to developmental golf equipment, regardless of their location, socioeconomic status, or physical capability. This conviction drives the development of our Golfway Play range, by collaborating with the European Disabled Golf Association (EDGA) and welcoming feedback we continually strive to make our products more inclusive and accessible.
A commitment to global youth golf
Our commitment extends beyond product development. We seek to support organisations that share our values, ensuring that children worldwide can enjoy the game of golf. In 2023, we were moved by reports of children using sticks and rocks as makeshift clubs and balls - determined to make a difference we set out to provide these young golfers with Golfway Play equipment.
Making a difference in Ghana and Uganda
In December 2023 and July 2024, we partnered with the Fafali Organization and Afriyea Golf Academy, donating hundreds of developmental golf clubs and balls. Our efforts aimed to create opportunities for children in Ghana and Uganda to practice with equipment appropriate for all ages, heights, and dexterities.
Raymond Amezado, President of the Fafali Organization, stated: "Golfway's generous donation is a stepping stone towards making a significant impact in our efforts to introduce golf to inner-city schools in Ghana. Your support enables us to extend our reach to more children who aspire to play the game. Golfway's contribution will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the lives of the children we aim to reach."
Isaiah Mwesige, CEO of Afriyea Golf Academy, said: "Thank you so much for your support Golfway and the R&A. The Golfway equipment makes it easy for the kids to quickly learn and enjoy the game."
Looking ahead: Ongoing support and partnerships
Nick Horrocks, Golfway Partnerships Director, said: "We are incredibly thankful to our partners at Vineyard Foundation, The Golf Trust, and the R&A, who contributed to these donations. We hope that the Golfway Play equipment can facilitate safer delivery and create a fun environment for the children involved in projects at Fafali and Afriyea. We look forward to supporting more junior golf projects in the future."
