Golfway is proud to be the equipment supplier for the Golf Foundation and Scottish Golf as they launch the Unleash Your Drive programme across Scotland. This exciting initiative aims to equip young people with essential mental toughness tools and foster a love for golf through easily deliverable programmes in primary schools.
Unleash Your Drive incorporates nine mental toughness tools to help children navigate life’s challenges. With 18% of young people facing probable mental health issues and disadvantaged children being three times more likely to encounter mental health problems, the programme’s launch is timely and vital.
Since its launch in September 2023, the Unleash Your Drive in Schools initiative has shown a 26% increase in understanding and utilisation of mental toughness tools, alongside a 6% improvement in mental well-being in just six weeks.
Unleash Your Drive will complement Scottish Golf’s National Junior Framework, which offers a wide range of programmes, events, resources, and opportunities for junior golf across Scotland. Brendon Pyle, CEO of the Golf Foundation, expressed his excitement about the programme, stating, “Unleash Your Drive aims to introduce more children to golf, create pathways into the sport, and support children’s mental health and wellbeing. These outcomes attract interest from schools, communities, and golf clubs, and we are committed to making a significant impact on multiple fronts.”
