Kent Golf family event supported by Golfway

Jan 15, 2025 Golfway

Kent Golf hosted a get-into-golf family festival, supported by Golfway, at Stonelees Golf Centre. The event, for families with children or young people with special educational needs or disabilities, featured a par-3 tournament, Golfway Play skill games and a barbecue.

Organised by Kim Brusadelli, Junior Development Office for Kent Golf, the event celebrated the positive impact that golf has had on children's lives, including improving their confidence, mobility, and coordination. These events also serve as an opportunity for family and friends to meet to share experiences and make connections.

Kent Golf, through volunteers such as Barry Sears, has introduced hundreds of children to golf through schools’ delivery using Golfway Play equipment. Children are then encouraged to attend local clubs and engage in further coaching with pros such as Gary Bason, as well as attend events such as Saturday's family festival.

Ross Bell Marketing Manager for Golfway commented "We are proud of the work that Kim, Barry and Gary, amongst others, carry out and the part that Golfway equipment plays in introducing so many young people to golf.

Junior golf development is often overlooked, even more so with SEN delivery, that's not the case in Kent and the work that Kent Golf are carrying out should inspire other regions in the country.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Kim for her role in organising these events and the joy it brings to so many young people and their families."
