How to measure your child for junior golf club fitting

How to measure golf clubs for junior golfers

Published on 24th May 2024

Having correctly fitted golf clubs is essential for optimising your child's golf performance, maximising their distance and accuracy, preventing injury, boosting confidence, and allowing them to enjoy their golf to the fullest. Therefore, it's important that your child has accurately fitted golf clubs and not the second or third-hand mismatch of clubs that have been collecting dust in your garage!

Here's a step-by-step guide that will help you measure accurately:

  1. Stand your child straight against a wall with their shoes off.

  2. Use a tape measure or ruler to measure from the floor to the top of their head. Note down their height.

  3. Select the appropriate height and dexterity options.

If your child is <110cm select the 110cm club set. If your child is <120cm select the 120cm club set, and so on. The general rule of thumb is to round up (as your child will grow into the set, rather than growing out of the set!).

Examples: If your child is 115cm tall, order the 120cm club set. If your child is 136cm tall, order the 140cm club set.

The height measurement is the key factor, the age range suggestions are just that, a suggestion, they provide a guide for those who are unable to measure the child they are ordering for.
